Pressure Filters

Pressure Filters are filters that have a tightly-fitting lid so that when water is pumped in to them it is forced through the sponges inside and gushes out of the other side under pressure.  This means the filter can be installed uphill and at a distance from the pond, so it is easy to hide behind a shed or at the top of your rockery.  The outlet can flow down a waterfall or into a spitting feature so your filter can be part of something that looks nice too!

Need help choosing?  The BioPress range is an excellent compromise between quality and cost - durable and easy to use with very good performance for such small filter units.  You can get the BioPress filters on their own if you already have a separate filter, or buy the set that includes a pump. The PondoPress is only available as a kit with a pump, and the build-quality is a little on the basic-side, but it's great value for money.  The FiltoClears are in a league of their own - they work on the same principle as the BioPresses, but they're bigger and better!  The main advantage is the UV unit is much easier to access for maintenance (just a press of the button and a twist of the wrist) and the back-flush feature has a diversion dial to let you switch the filter into cleaning mode without having to alter any of the pipework manually.
