The Juwel Day-Lite T8 tubes are compatible with the Juwel MultiLux Light Units that used to be supplied as standard with the Rio, Vision, Lido and Trigon LED aquarium sets. New LED Light units are also available separately as an upgrade to the original T8 or T8 generations and the new LED MultiLux units are completely compatible with the existing lid and flap sets. You can't put LED tubes in a T5 or T8 Unit, or put your old school tubes into a new LED unit - the technology isn't the same and it would be like putting petrol in a diesel car!
The 'Day-Lite' gives a bright daylight effect with a colour temperature of 6500 kelvin. It is ideal for promoting plant growth without encouraging algae.
Which size do you need?
If the writing on your old tube has faded or you don't know the exact model of aquarium you have, you'll need to do some detective work! You need to measure two things:
a) the thickness of the tube. If it's 25mm you're on the right page! If it's a slimmer 16mm then look at the the Juwel T5 tubes instead.
b) the length of the tube, which will tell you the exact replacement you should choose.
