Air Pumps

Air pumps are a quick-fix to boost oxygen levels in your pond, which is particularly important for supporting your fish in hot weather.  They sit next to the pond (they are rain-safe but can't go underwater) and send air through a small hose into the water to an 'air stone'.  This is a porous valve that breaks up the large air bubbles into tiny bubbles (like cheese going through a grater!) so they fizz into the water and dissolve quickly.  This is good for the water quality and also looks pretty cool, especially if you have underwater lights to illuminate the bubbles at night!
